Edinburgh's Active Citizenship Group
Who are we?
Members of Edinburgh's Active Citizenship Group come from organisations such as the Workers' Educational Association, the World Development Movement, the City of Edinburgh Council's Community Learning & Development, the Scottish Civic Forum and the University of Edinburgh.
The group regularly holds large scale, participatory public seminars on topical issues related to citizenship. These have included events about the Scottish Parliament, the media, globalisation, war, anti-social behaviour, prostitution and the issues surrounding the G8 summit. Our seminars are designed to be as participatory as possible, enabling members of the public to fully engage in debate with policy-makers and academics so that informed action is possible. We also work in partnership with organisations to help make their events more participatory.
